Birds

Hummingbirds (smaller):

These cheery hummingbirds have about a 3 1/2 inch wingspan and are 2 1/2 inches tall. These smaller hummingbirds were made by hand mostly out of wool. The non-wool elements are a painted wooden beak and a fishing line loop to hang him on. Each hummingbird is custom made and may vary slightly from the photograph. One of the pictured birds is like my larger hummingbird, with a body out of slate colored wool and with accents in white, rhubarb, and a variegated teal.  The other little hummingbird has a body out of slate, with accents in lavender, kiwi, indigo, and black.

Graduating Penguins:

These little penguins stand between 2 1/2 and 3 inches tall. They each wear a graduation hat with tassel and carry a diploma.  Each penguin is custom made and may vary slightly from the photograph. The pictured penguins have bodies out of dark grey, black, and white wool. Their hats and the ribbons around their diplomas are pansy (hot pink), red, and Caribbean blue (close to a dark turquoise).  Each little hat has a gold tassel.

Baby Penguin:

This is my baby penguin.  He’s the first thing I made that didn’t end up being scary looking.  He has special privileges and often ends up in other people’s pictures.

Hummingbird (larger):

This cheery hummingbird has about a 4 1/2 inch wingspan and is 3 inches tall. He was created with a thread to hang him on, and does not come with the stand featured in the pictures.  This hummingbird was made by hand mostly out of wool. The non-wool elements are a painted wooden beak and a fishing line loop to hang him on. Each hummingbird is custom made and may vary slightly from the photograph. The pictured bird has a body out of slate colored wool, with accents in white, rhubarb, and a variegated teal.
